Among the Tuatha Dé Danann There are many Gods capable of many things, but there is only one that they said was 'Good' at everything. Said to be their God of Druidry, the Dagda carried many names to describe the many roles he fulfilled for his Tuath. Not least among them is Olathair.
An Old Irish word that translates and 'Great / Ample Father' we know from the lore that The Dagda had many children such as Brigid, Cermait, Midir and Oengus, but also as foster father to none other than Manannán Mac Lir.
No other God carries a name that specifically defines him in the role of parent, be it of blood or indeed of Tuath. There is only the The Dagda, The Olatiahr, or in other words, the 'Big Daddy'.
