Brighid is an elemental Goddess of fire, but though fire can consume and destroy it can also warm, cleanse and purify. Working healing with this Goddess is less about the soothing balm and more about the purging heat. As a fever burns out an illness so too does Brighid cleanse with fire. Those who feel her gentle care could be said to be purified by flame.
